Rohrer Spectrum Laser Treatment Monmouth County NJ
Monmouth County plastic surgeon Dr. Vemula takes pride in being on top of the latest technology and techniques in plastic surgery. The surgeon consistently introduces revolutionary new treatments – including non-invasive technology – to help achieve the needs of his patients with minimal downtime. Dr. Vemula and our team at V Plastic Surgery recently acquired the innovative Spectrum Laser platform from Rohrer Aesthetics.
What is the Spectrum Laser?
The Spectrum Laser device from Rohrer Aesthetics is a portable platform that combines both laser and IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) functionality. This allows plastic surgeons to offer a variety of transformative non-invasive treatments via a single, convenient system. We are excited to expand our treatment options with this to include hair reduction, tattoo removal, facial resurfacing, facial treatments, vein removal, and more.
Spectrum Laser Treatment Options
Our spectrum laser platform comes with 5 different hand pieces (4 laser and 1 IPL) to provide specialized treatments based on the needs of each patient.
Laser Hair Removal
With this new addition to our Monmouth NJ office at V Plastic Surgery, unwanted hair is a problem of the past. The 810 nm diode laser mode is specifically designed to get rid of unwanted hair in both small and large areas of the body. During treatment, the hand piece will be directed at problem areas to destroy hair follicles. This essentially disables them from future hair growth. Patients will notice that unwanted hair starts to thin out and slough off after the first treatment session. However, for optimal results, a series of 5 – 10 treatments spaced several weeks apart are required.
Laser Skin Resurfacing
Many patients experience adverse aesthetic changes on the skin due to factors such as aging, sun damage, and hormonal changes. Laser skin resurfacing is known to be an effective treatment for the reduction and removal of wrinkles, scars, pigmentation, and other skin imperfections. The Spectrum Laser device has an Erbium Yag Laser handpiece that is specifically designed to address this problem on specific areas such as the face and neck, chest, and hands. One of the best things about the Erbium Yag treatment is that it offers minimal downtime and achieves impressive results for mild to moderate skin wrinkling and discoloration.
Vein Removal
Spider veins are a fairly common aesthetic problem that may be caused by sun damage, hormonal changes, pregnancy, and aging. People who sit or stand for extended durations of time may also experience this aesthetic issue. The Rohrer Spectrum laser comes with a Long Pulsed Yag Laser hand piece that is designed to get rid of unsightly spider veins to reveal a smoother and youthful appearance. This particular hand piece works by matching the laser wavelength to the color of hemoglobin in areas with unwanted spider veins. The system will then discharge longer pulses in order to heat the veins and cause it to close off. In addition to spider veins, this setting can also address a wide variety of vascular lesions. It is important to note that this treatment works best for smaller veins of 3mm or less. This device can treat a variety of different colored veins. It is most effective for treating red veins. For blue, purple, and darker colored veins it will take approximately 3 – 5 sessions for them to start to disappear.
Laser Tattoo Removal
People choose to have tattoos removed for varied reasons, ranging from a bad decision when young to a relationship breakup and career aspirations – among others. The Rohrer Spectrum platform at V Plastic Surgery in Monmouth County features a specialized tattoo removal hand piece known as the Q-Switched Yag or KTP Laser. This device employs dual wavelengths to get rid of more tattoo color pigments in less time than lasers that use a single wavelength. The hand piece essentially works by breaking tattoo pigments into particles that are tiny enough to be removed through the body’s natural filtering system. The number of treatments required to achieve the desired results will depend on the extent of the patient’s problem areas.
Intense Pulsed Light
This hand piece is not technically a laser. However, it simultaneously uses a wide variety of laser wavelengths. The device comes with filters that plastic surgeons and aestheticians can use to deliver different non-invasive treatments ranging from acne reduction to vascular issues, hair reduction, and removal of sun damage and aging spots. One of the best things about Spectrum IPL treatments is that they are non-ablative and very gentle. Patients can simply relax and enjoy the versatility and efficacy of this treatment to reveal a healthier and youthful-looking skin.
